Who is 808 Sweet Shack? Here is our story…..
Amy grew up in Texas and her mother, Joyce, was a well known southern cook who started Amy on her baking adventure at a young age. After completing her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, she started her career in Airline catering .There she worked with many European trained Executive Chefs and International customers. However, Hawaii had always been an important influence in Amy’s family so she and Troy decided to relocate to Hilo in 2016. With Amy’s passion for baking and Troy’s long history in retail, they decided the time was right to open 808 Sweet Shack and fulfill Amy’s dream.
808 Sweet Shack treats are hand crafted using family recipes, twists on existing recipes, and new creations with a focus on Island flavors. Each recipe is prepared in small batches with the freshest ingredients available. We utilize as many local products as possible from lilikoi to mac nuts. We like to keep things fun and exciting so we offer a variety of cakes, cookies, pies, and other tasty treats to tourists and locals alike at an affordable price.
In 2020 like everyone we were hit hard by the COVID19 Pandemic but were able to continue to serve our customers. This year we have secured a new location with more space and most importantly our kitchen is on site!
We will continue to bring exciting and tasty desserts to our loyal customers while getting to know our new ones.
